The school at MTC provides education, food, and lodging to these children, which would not otherwise be available. Your sponsorship of $360 for one year supports children to receive 3 meals a day, warm clothes and bedding, and an education that will allow them significant choices for their future, including going to college.
This education will help preserve their culture and give them options. They will learn Tibetan language, Buddhist philosophy, various ritual arts and also Chinese language, English, math, science and hopefully sometime in the future, computers. This will give them the option when they are in their late teens to choose whether they wish to become monks, go to college, begin businesses, or return home to do traditional farming. They are building from scratch a dormitory consisting of 50 rooms, and using existing structures, reconstructing them into classrooms, a kitchen and a dining room.
Your donation will go into a general fund to assure these benefits for all of the children.
